Mopa: The alleged exploitation of taxi operators at Manohar International Airport, Mopa, continues, with taxikars accusing GMR authorities of charging exorbitant pickup and drop fees while allowing only a very short time window, creating severe difficulties for local drivers.
Speaking to the media, taxi operator Yogesh Govekar, also known as Mogambo, appealed to all taxi operators and those affected by the current GMR policies to unite and raise their voice against what he termed injustice.
He has called for a united protest to demand fair rules, reasonable charges, and justice for local taxikars. The protest will be held on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, at 10 am, near the Colvale Housing Board petrol pump.
Taxi operators have warned that if their demands are not addressed, the agitation will be intensified in the coming days.
