Porvorim: As the state is witnessing high decibel campaign for Zilla Panchayat, Succoro Panchayat has issued notice to a construction of a Cross in their jurisdiction, triggering a discontent.
Local MLA Rohan Khaunte criticized that Succoro panchayat Sarpanch, who himself has been involved in several illegalities, is indulging in act of creating disharmony in the village through such notices.
Khaunte has said that the panchayat should withdraw the notice, as soon as possible, which is issued in the run up for ZP poll.
He said that the work on the said Cross has been going on for almost a year, and now when the election process is on, the panchayat has woken up to issue the notice.
“Succor sarpanch along with few more members have joined BJP in the name of development. But we can clearly see that they are indulging in such divisive tactics,” he said.
Former Revenue Minister said that he has asked the local panch member to speak to Sarpanch and withdraw the notice.
“People are wise enough to understand which way the panchayat is working. People of Porvorim will not fall pray for this. This letter should be withdrawn,” he added.
