STREET VENDORS TRAINED ON FOOD HYGIENE

The Directorate of Food and Drugs Administration (FDA), in association with National Street Vendors Association of India  have launched the third phase of training of street food vendors in the State of Goa.

As a part of the inaugural session, 50 vendors operating near GMC Bambolim and in the Panjim area were trained and provided FOSTAC certificates.

Shweta Dessai Director FDA, Richard Noronha Designated Officer FDA, Shanjay Bhandari, Head Corporate Affairs Nestle and Sangeeta Singh Head NASVI.  Were present for the inaugural session.

Street food is an integral part of the food ecosystem of Goa and caters to a large population including both locals and tourists hence it is imperative to ensure that the vendersare educated to handle food in a hygienic manner. With this motto, the FDA shall train 500 vendors across the State in the next two months.
