Panaji: Goa Government will roll out STEMI (ST Elevation Myocardial Infarction) programme on December 15.
Health Minister Vishwajit Rane will launch STEMI at Goa Medical College and Hospital (GMC).
The programme aims to decrease cardiac mortality and morbidity resulting from ST Elevation Myocardial Infarction (STEMI or Heart Attack) by aiding prompt and accurate diagnosis in peripheral health centers of Goa using tele-ECG, thrombolytic of the clot using newer thrombolytic agents and prompt transfer to Goa Medical College using Cardiac/ALS ambulances of 108 GVK-EMRI.
This is a landmark project of Government of Goa and a revolutionary way of treating heart attacks in the state.
