Mopa: Several taxi operators were present outside Manohar International Airport at Mopa protesting against the hike in the parking fees.
The taxi operators claimed that they had peacefully gathered at the airport. They claimed that the orders are given to the police to lathi charge them.
“We don’t want Assagao house demolition like incident to reoccur. Those police officials who are asked by higher ups to lathi charge the taxi operators who take the orders in writing or else the bosses will go scot free and lower level officials will face action.”
The taxi operators said that they had met chief minister in the past and also local MLA who could not give them justice. They claim that the hike in parking fee is to ensure that taxi business is taken over by outsider.
