Margao: Shiv Sena’s South Goa Lok Sabha seat candidate Rakhi Prabhudesai Naik has begun her campaign in the constituency. She took the blessings of Lord Damodar before starting her campaign from Margao town.
Naik is the sole candidate of Uddhav Thackrey-led party after party’s State chief Jitesh Kamat did not file the nomination.
“People are increasingly supporting me as they want fresh face in the constituency. Sena has stood with the people during their crisis. For example, Sena leaders even travelled to Delhi when mining dependents wanted their help,” she said.
Naik said that being only woman candidate in the fray from South Goa, she would certainly get acceptance from the lady voters. “I know what is required for women to make their life smoother. Central government schemes which are made for women usually don’t reach to them because MPs are men. If I get elected, my focus would be towards ensuring that these schemes actually reach to the people who deserve,” she said.
