Ponda: The ambitious project of constructing new market at Banastarim by Goa State Infrastructure Development Corporation has hit a major road block. Ponda Civil Court has stayed the project after the owner of the land objected to the project.
Anil Fondu Naik, owner of the land, had filed suit before the Court in Ponda claiming that his NOC was not sought while designing or constructing the project. Advocate Saish Mhambrey represented the plaintiff.
District and Sessions Judge Bela Naik ordered the demolition of existing market to make a way for new one should be stayed till the next date of hearing.
