Sena files complaint against Pratima, Savitri, Netraveli Dy Sarpanch Abhijit Desai and others

Panaji: Shiv Sena today filed formal complaint against Goa Pradesh Mahila Congress Committee President Pratima Coutinho, South district head Savitri Kavlekar, Netravali Deputy Sarpanch Abhijit Desai and panch members Prakash Bhagat and Vitthal Gaonkar for revealing the identity of a victim of molestation.

Sena’s Goa Vice President Rakhi Prabhudesai Naik in a complaint filed with Women Police Station, copy of which is given to Director General of Police, has urged to invoke POCSO, IPC and also under Schedules Caste and Scheduled Tribe (Prevention of Atrocities Act) 1989 against the accused.

            Naik has filed complaint against all the accused  under Section 23 of POCSO which given protection to children prohibiting disclosure of name, address, photograph, family details, school, neighbourhood or any other disclosure of identity of a victim of sexual offences.

“All the accused should also be booked under section 228A of the Indian Penal Code which prohibits the printing or publishing of the name or any other detail which discloses identity of the victim,” she said.

“All the accused should also be booked under Schedules Caste and Scheduled Tribe (Prevention of Atrocities Act) 1989,” she added.

“All the accused should be booked under section 505 of IPC for conducting public mischief by revealing identity of the accused on social media which has access to several hundred mobile users, and has a possibility of being forwarded to other groups/forums/media,” the complaint mentions.

“All the accused should be booked under section 120A of Indian Penal Code for hatching criminal conspiracy against the family members of the victim and the victim,” she said
