Panaji : Goa Congress Manifesto Committee’s co-chairman Elvis Gomes said self governance will be the foundation stone of Congress’s manifesto. “It will be a people’s manifesto,” he said.
Gomes recalled that Rajiv Gandhi wanted empowerment at the grassroot level under the 73rd and 74rd constitutional amendment , “We want Rajiv Gandhi’s self-governance policy to be the essence of the manifesto,” said Gomes.
“We will listen to the demands of people and prepare a manifesto. Most of the agitations that happen against the government are because the government turns a blind eye towards them. Hence we want people to be the decision makers at the grassroots level,” he said.
