The Directorate of Art & Culture, Govt. of Goa will conduct trials for selecting the traditional Goan folk groups from Goa in order to provide better platform & exposure to the Goan folk artists. The trials are conducted for selecting the groups for deputation of various programmes in the State, other states as well as International programmes.
This year the selection trials will be held for folk dances, folk music, folk songs from October 3 to 07, 2024 at Rajiv Gandhi Kala Mandir, Ponda – Goa. The interested group leaders / artists may contact the department to collect the application forms. Online forms will also be available on department website www.artandculture.goa.gov.in.The forms are available at the office of the Directorate of Art & Culture, Sanskruti Bhavan, Patto, Panaji Goa (Ph. 2404640/636/637) from 10th September 2024 on payment of Rs. 10/- per form. The duly filled forms have to be submitted by 25th September 2024.
The groups should perform 4 (four) best items of folk dances in traditional costumes along with live music in the selection trial. No entry fees will be charged. No artist is allowed to participate in more than one group. The selection of folk groups will begin from 9.00 a.m. to 6.00 p.m. The audiences are allowed to witness the selection trial on above mentioned dates as it is open to all.
