Panaji: Aam Admi Party on Wednesday said that Goa government was “slowly understanding Delhi model of covidcare.”
AAP was referring to the decision by Goa government to allow home quarantine for COVID-19 positive, asymptomatic families. The decision was announced by Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Wednesday during a press conference in the capital city.
Goa government has allowed the home quarantine, only if all the family members test positive.
“Reported decision to home quarantine asymptomatic patients was a right step taken by Sawant led government, provided it follows proper protocols,” AAP spokesman Ramiro Mascarenhas adding that “Goa government has slowly understood Delhi model of covidcare.”
He pointed out that AAP had been repeatedly drawing the attention of the government during past few days to “decide on allowing option of home isolation for the patients who have tested positive for the virus.”
Mascarenhas said that Goa government has not been able to handle the increasing number of cases due to which it is resorting to lockdowns without any scientific base.
Mascarenhas said that the State government, after allowing home quarantine for positive patients, should follow all the protocols “scrupulously” including disposal of containment waste, monitoring of the patients and supply of oxymeters.
Mascarenhas said that Sawant-led government was forced to allow home quarantine facility for positive patients, as it failed to create necessary bed facility to cater to the ever increasing outbreak.
