Panaji: Porvorim MLA Rohan Khaunte on Monday met PWD Minister Deepak Pauskar listing out various shortfalls of his department, which has resulted in serious issues in the constituency including acute shortage of water supply.
Khaunte told reporters that Pauskar has assured to solve the issue within next eight days, failing which the people will take on the street in protest.
The Porvorim MLA recalled that the Water Treatment Plant at Porvorim was supposed to be commissioned on May 31, which has not become a reality.
He said that the officials are giving excuse of Covid-19 pandemic to shirk away their responsibility.
Khaunte said that there are various PWD department related issues are plaguing the constituency including incomplete sewerage network.
He said that certain officials of PWD department are efficient but they have been transferred out of Porvorim.
