Panaji: Porvorim MLA Rohan Khaunte has now approached Chief Justice of India with the plea raising concern about forest lad diversion for the projects in and around the Bhagwan Mahavir Wildlife Sanctuary and Mollem National Park.

Several groups have been protesting against the proposed projects in these green belts. Pramod Sawant-led government has given deaf ears to the pleas of environmentalists, students and also concerned citizens.

Posting his letter on social media, Khaunte wrote “since our pleas to #SaveMollemNationalPark are falling on deaf ears of @DrPramodPSawant government, I am reaching out to various authorities in the Center and judicial to make Goan voices heard.”

“I have written to Chief Justice of India Shri Sharad Arvind Bobde to intervene and rethink implementation of destructive infrastructure projects in #Goa that will rob off Goa from its soul – it’s forests!,” he said.
