Rich Tributes Paid to Former CM Manohar Parrikar on His Birth Anniversary

Miramar: The Goa government on Saturday paid rich tributes to former chief minister Manohar Parrikar on his birth anniversary, with leaders including Chief Minister Pramod Sawant remembering the departed leader.

The chief minister was accompanied by Union Minister Naik, BJP Goa President Damodar Naik, and others. The family members of Parrikar, including both his sons — Utpal and Abhijat — were present at the memorial at Miramar Beach.

“Goa will always remember Parrikar for the developmental works undertaken during his tenure. He was a visionary leader,” Sawant told reporters.

He said that his government has been carrying forward the vision of Parrikar through various developmental projects. Sawant added that infrastructure and human development were the focus of Parrikar during his governance.

The chief minister said that the state will always remember Parrikar.

BJP Goa President Damodar Naik said that Parrikar was instrumental in launching several social welfare schemes that provided much-needed relief to the poor and needy in the state.

He added that the subsequent BJP government has continued these schemes, improving them further and realizing the vision of Parrikar.
