Pernem, February 2026: The Department of Information Technology, Electronics & Communications (DITE&C) conducted a review meeting at the Electronic Manufacturing Cluster (EMC), Tuem, to assess infrastructure progress and further streamline operational readiness. The meeting was held in the presence of key stakeholders, reflecting the government’s commitment to ensuring timely project completion through coordinated inter-departmental efforts.
The review meeting was led by Kabir Shirgaonkar, Director, DITE&C, along with Dr Milind Sakhardande, Joint Director, DITE&C, Eldrida Crasto, Assistant Director, DITE&C, and officials from the Goa Information Technology Development Corporation (GITDC), Info Tech Corporation, Goa (ITG), the Office of the Deputy Collector and Sub-Divisional Officer, Pernem, the Public Works Department (PWD), Goa Police, and the Directorate of Fire & Emergency Services.
During the meeting, key infrastructure components were reviewed, including the approach road, water and electricity connections, fire and safety arrangements, and internet services at the EMC Park.
The status of land acquisition for the approach road was reviewed, and necessary follow-up actions were discussed with the concerned authorities to facilitate smooth progress.
The PWD informed that works related to water supply to the Fire Block are nearing completion, while arrangements for uninterrupted electricity supply are being streamlined. The department also highlighted efforts underway to enhance mobile connectivity in the area in line with the growing occupancy at the EMC Park.
Operational readiness was further strengthened by directing the Fire and Police Departments to deploy personnel at the site.
Kabir Shirgaonkar, Director, DITE&C, along with departmental staff and officials from GITDC, conducted a site inspection of ongoing infrastructure works, including the Warehouse and Garbage Building. Industrial Plots and MIZ Plots, where construction activities have already commenced, were also reviewed, indicating steady progress within the EMC Park.
The review meeting concluded with a strong emphasis on inter-departmental coordination and timely completion of all remaining works. The meeting was held as a preparatory review ahead of the scheduled visit of Minister Rohan Khaunte to the EMC, Tuem, reflecting the department’s proactive approach towards accelerating development of the cluster.
