The seventh edition of the people-centric street festival returns on January 11
Porvorim, Jan 9, 2026: Porvorim Rising will once again bring the community together with NoMoZo 7.0, scheduled for January 11, 2026. Designed as a celebration of shared public spaces, the event blends fitness, culture, creativity, and community engagement, and will see renowned actor Manoj Bajpayee joining residents at the festival.
NoMoZo encourages citizens of all ages to step out, connect with their neighbourhoods, and engage with public spaces in meaningful ways. Families, youth, artists, innovators, and local groups are expected to participate in a day-long programme designed around movement, learning, and cultural expression.
Speaking ahead of the event, Rohan A. Khaunte, Minister for Tourism, IT, E&C, and Printing and Stationery, Government of Goa, stated that NoMoZo was born from a sense of childhood nostalgia, from memories of growing up when streets were places to play, meet friends, and build connections within the neighbourhood. He said that the feeling of togetherness and freedom inspired the idea of reclaiming public spaces for people. He added that today, NoMoZo recreates that experience by encouraging families, children, youth, and senior citizens to step out, interact, and engage with their surroundings. In today’s fast-paced world, he said, NoMoZo serves as a reminder of the simple joy of community life and how people-centric public spaces can strengthen belonging, wellbeing, and social connections.
On his participation, Manoj Bajpayee expressed his excitement and said that what draws him to NoMoZo is the way it brings people together in an open and simple manner, and that he is looking forward to being part of it.
NoMoZo 7.0 will feature multiple interactive zones, including Kids, Art, Heritage, Astronomy, Fitness, Martial Arts, Boxing, Health, Youth, IT and Science, Performance and Dance, Influencer, and Karaoke zones. Free stalls will be provided to local vendors and artisans, supporting community participation.
With growing public involvement each year, NoMoZo continues to strengthen Porvorim’s community spirit by turning everyday streets into spaces of connection and collective celebration.
