The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in Goa on Friday said that it is ready to withdraw nominations from the ensuing April 23 elections, if anyone could prove that it is ‘B’ team of BJP.
AAP state chief Elvis Gomes has rubbished claims of being the ‘B’ team of the BJP and expressed his contention to withdraw party’s candidature from the Lok Sabha polls and two Assembly constituencies- Mapusa and Shiroda assembly segments.
“We are ready to withdraw all candidates if the rivals could even provide slightest proof in support of the accusations that we are B team of BJP,” he said.
The Arvind Kejriwal led party is been accused by Congress across country of being the B team of BJP. In Goa too, Congress has blamed AAP for working in support of BJP after the party refused to support Congress’ candidate for the Lok Sabha polls.
AAP has fielded Gomes from South Goa Parliamentary seat and Pradeep Padgaonkar from North Goa parliamentary constituency.
Party has also fielded Shekhar Naik from Mapusa assembly constituency and Yogesh Khandeparkar from Shiroda Assembly constituency.
Gomes said that AAP could prove that BJP first came to power with support from the Congress and were even now surviving with the tacit support they receive from the opposition.
