Porvorim: The question tabled by Leader of Opposition Yuri Alemao on state government’s Sarkar Tumchya Dari initiative will lead the first day of monsoon assembly session beginning from today.
The question was originally slated to be discussed in February, 2024 but was postponed by the state government. The government will table the answer for it on Monday, which is listed first during the Question hour.
This is expected to kick-start the attack on Pramod Sawant-led government by the opposition benches during the 18-working-day-long assembly session.
The first day of the session will pass 23 congratulatory motions including PM Narendra Modi, Speaker Om Birla, senior BJP leader L K Advani, chief minister Pramod Sawant, Health minister Vishwajit Rane, Tourism minister Rohan Khaunte, Goa Forest Development Corporation chairman Dr Deviya Rane, Auxiliary Archbishop Rev Fr Simiao Purificacao Fernandes and others.
There will be obituary references for the demise of Late Shri Fali Nariman, Late Shri Manohar Joshi, former Speaker of Lok Sabha and former Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Late Shri Ameen Sayani, an iconic radio presenter, Late Shri Jeremias Pinto, veteran freedom fighter, Late Rev. Fr. Anthony Rebello, Goan Bishop, of the diocese of Francistown, Botswana, Africa, Late Shri Gajanan Halarnkar, social worker and others.
During the day, the state government will table government Bills and there will be discussion on the Budget.
