Panaji: President Droupadi Murmu on Thursday visited Basilica of Bom Jesus at Old Goa during the last day of her three-day visit to the coastal state.
A senior government official said that the President arrived at the Basilica located in North Goa’s Old Goa village at around 10.30 am and went around the Church.
The Church houses relics of St Francis Xavier and is certified by UNESCO as world heritage site.
“She went around the Church and inquired about the historic and architectural significance of the place,” a senior official said.
The President would be visiting Shree Shantadurga Temple and Shree Mahalsa Temple in South Goa.
She is expected to leave the state at 1.45 pm from Dabolim airport.
