Porvorim, June 6, 2024 – The historic milestone of the 350th anniversary of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s coronation culminated on June 6th with a grand celebration in Porvorim, Goa. Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, who was crowned king on June 6, 1674, remains a monumental figure in Indian history.

The event transcended mere commemoration; it served as a poignant reminder of the enduring legacy left by Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, whose valor and vision continue to illuminate the path of countless individuals across generations.

The event commenced at the Vidya Prabodhini Shikshan Sankul with a thought-provoking talk on “Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s War Tactics” by Dr. Satchinanda Shevde, an esteemed researcher, litterateur, and international speaker. This insightful lecture delved into the strategic genius of Shivaji Maharaj, offering a deep understanding of his military acumen. Following the talk, a Padyatra starting from the venue and concluding at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Chowk in Porvorim. The Minister of Tourism, Mr. Rohan A. Khaunte, along with Dr. Shevde and other prominent dignitaries from Goa, paid homage to the legendary king by garlanding his statue.

The celebration aimed to instill Shivaji Maharaj’s values and visionary leadership in the youth.

In commemorating the 350th anniversary of his coronation, Porvorim didn’t just pay tribute to a historical figure; it celebrated the essence of leadership, resilience, and the relentless pursuit of justice.
