Panaji: NGO Savera has filed formal complaint against Pratima Coutinho, chief of Goa Pradesh Mahila Congress Committee, for identifying victims in two different cases during last one week.
The complaint which is filed at Women’s Police Station in the city has said that Coutinho should be booked under POCSO Act and also IPC for revealing identity of the victims.
Savera President Tara Kerkar has complained that Coutinho last week has revealed the identity of minor who is a molestation victim. She along with her team had gone to visit the family of a minor girl who was molested by a boy from Zharkhand under which FIR is registered in Sanguem police station.
Pratima has put up pictures and details about the family of the victim on social media, the complaint reads.
“Earlier last week in a different case, she had gone to Goa State Women’s Commission and later had a press conference along with victim of sexual abuse and her minor child,” Savera has said.
She has also circulated the name of the victim and her picture on social media. Coutinho is a lawyer by profession and is well aware about the law, the complaint reads.
