Panaji : National Students’ Union of India, Goa Unit on May 20 (Today) said that they would be launching a pick up and drop service for Covid19 vaccination in Goa.
NSUI President of North Goa, Naushad Chowdhari said “Many elderly people are confined to their homes by the reason of their age they can neither register for the vaccine nor reach the Vaccination center, through our pick up and drop drive we wish to help these kind of persons”
“We have currently registered 50 people for the Covid19 Vaccine, in many parts of Goa there are power outages and people cannot access the internet to book a slot for the vaccine, we have volunteers who have good internet connection and are helping out people to register for their slot” said Chowdhari.
NSUI also informed that they plan on going to villages and spread awareness about the important of Vaccine. Chowdhari added “We will also register names of people who are living in remote areas since they cannot avail of internet facilities”
NSUI inferred that on 21st May they will be launching a vehicle which can help people reach vaccination center. “On 21st May itself we have received few registrations of elderly people one of them is 90+ Year we will take them for vaccination at health centre” concluded Chowdhari.
