Panaji, Goa – The Photo Journalists Association Goa (PJAG) has elected Sandeep Desai of Dainik Gomantak as the new President for the terms 2024-2025 and 2025-2026 during the Annual General Meeting (AGM) held at the PJAG office in Panaji on May 25, 2024. The AGM saw the attendance of nearly all PJAG members, who unanimously elected Mr. Desai as the President of the Association. This marks the first time PJAG has elected its president for a two-year term, following a new amendment adopted during the PJAG AGM in 2023. The election took place during the Annual General-body Meeting (AGM) held at the PJAG office in Panaji on 25th May 2024.
The AGM witnessed the enthusiastic participation of almost all PJAG members, who unanimously elected Mr. Desai as the President of the Association.
The newly elected PJAG executive committee members who will assist Mr. Desai in the smooth functioning of the association are:

Nandesh Kambli, the immediate past president, greeted Sandeep Desai and his team during the AGM. He also expressed his deep concern over the rising number of unauthorized news channels operating on social media without government authorization, which often defame genuine journalists.
PJAG was established in 2007 and has a membership strength of 24 photojournalists representing various newspapers and news agencies in Goa. The Association celebrates its annual day on August 19, coinciding with World Photography Day. Throughout the year, PJAG organizes several programs,worksops and educational seminars for its members and the general public to promote the art of photography and the importance of photojournalism.
