Valpoi: Phoenix Socio Cultural association has donated oxygen Manometer to Health officer of Community Health Centre Valpoi Dr. Shyam Kankonkar and oximeters to Valpoi Municipal Council Chief Shaizin Shaikh
The donation was made at Community Health Centre Valpoi. “The onset of Covid-19 and surge in demand for emergency care has strained the existing healthcare infrastructure and highlighted the need for innovative solutions that would provide urgent relief to Valpoi population while building capacity for the town to handle abnormal health events in the future, we have kept 30 pulse oximeter, any person in need of pulse oximeter can contact Sayyad Sarfaraz on 9423307276 or Akib Shaikh on 7020157243. Abdulla Khan president of PSCA said.
For patients in home isolation, especially older individuals and those at increased risk because of medical conditions, a pulse oximeter comes handy for monitoring oxygen levels. As per the current home-isolation guidelines, an asymptomatic COVID-positive person have to report to the home isolation call centre, if they have abnormal oxygen saturation levels or high temperature. This pulse oximeter will be beneficial to patients who otherwise can’t afford to buy it. And once the patients gets well they can return it back. Said Sayyad Sarfaraz councillor VMC
VCM Chief Shaizin Shaikh said “With a rising number of Covid-19 cases, it is highly critical that we enable citizens of the town with the knowledge to fight this infectious disease. We are determined to play our part in making town a healthier place,”.
Further VCM Chief applauded the contribution and role played by PSCA in coming forward to help whenever there are any crises. “I have seen the work of Phoenix, In any difficulty, may it be helping financially unprivileged students, or conducting awareness programme to honouring those who have contributed to the society, phoenix have always touched every section of society. Health Officer of CHC Valpoi thanked phoenix Socio Cultural association for contributing to strengthen the health infrastructure when it is needed badly. He further said phoenix have always help CHC Valpoi when there was a need.
