Panaji: Hundreds of people on Tuesday morning ventured out of their houses to buy essential food items as state government allowed the markets to remain open till 11 a.m.
All the markets in the state were kept open between 6 a.m. till 11 a.m., during which hundreds of people moved out to buy essentials.
Goa government has announced extension of “Janata Curfew” till March 25 mid-night, imposing severe restrictions on the movement of people to curb spread of COVID-19.
State has already sealed the borders with the exception of movement of essential commodities. The government and private offices have been shut down till March 25.
Only essential services including hospitals, pharmacies and government services like electricity, water supply have been kept open during these days.
Goa has not reported a single positive case of coronavirus infection till date.
