Panaji: Former Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar’s sons on Saturday said that “they will continue his legacy of service and dedication to the State and the Nation.”
Utpal and Abhijaat, sons of late Parrikar, in their thanks giving message, has also said that their father lived every day with vigour, a strong will and a desire to serve the nation and the State.
They have thanks Prime Minister Narendra Modi for unstinting support through their father’s illness.
“It is said the legacy of Heroes is the memory of a great name and inheritance of a great example,” both the sons have said quoting former British Prime Minister Benjamin Disraeli.
“We will honour his life by continuing his legacy of service and dedication to the State and the nation,” they have said in a statement released here on behalf of the family.
Section of BJP workers have been pressing for Utpal to contesting upcoming Panaji by-election on party ticket. Earlier on Friday, Utpal had said that he will take decide on at the right time.
In a statement further, the sons have said “my lived everyday with a vigour, a strong will and desire to serve the nation and the State.”
“Till the very last, he was occupied with issued concerning the State,” they have said.
The sons have said that with the death of their father, they have lost central part of the family and the void created is huge.
“However, the sheer number of people, messages and letter we have received has made us feel we are part of a much bigger family that he has left behind,” they have said.
Both the sons have thanked Indian Armed Forces for conducting “such a moving ceremony.” He also thanks PM, Union minister and hospitals where their father was treated.
