Quepem: A complaint has been filed by Mr. Prabhakar Shidu Vaiz, a Panch Member of Village Panchayat Cola, against Shri Pavitra Narayan Velip, an IRB Constable with the Goa Armed Police, for allegedly using abusive and inappropriate language during an official meeting.
The incident reportedly occurred on December 11, 2024, during a Panchayat meeting held at Cola Panchayat. According to Mr. Vaiz, Shri Velip, who is also the husband of the Sarpanch, Mrs. Priyanka Pavitra Velip, made offensive remarks targeting his personal dignity and integrity.
In his formal complaint submitted to the Police Inspector of Canacona Police Station, Mr. Vaiz stated that the behavior was unprovoked and created a hostile environment. He emphasized that such conduct is unacceptable, particularly from someone in a position of authority.
Supporting his allegations, Mr. Vaiz has attached video evidence of the incident and referred to a prior complaint filed on January 16, 2023, against Shri Velip. He has requested a thorough investigation and appropriate action to prevent further harassment.
Authorities are yet to comment on the complaint, but the case highlights growing concerns about decorum and accountability in public office.
