Panaji: In an important decision, the TCP Board chaired by Deputy Chief Minister Chandrakant Kavlekar today resolved to remove Panaji from the jurisdiction of North Goa Planning and Development Authority (NGPDA) for its inclusion in Greater Panaji Planning and development authority (GPPDA).
Kavlekar said that the decision has been taken in the interest of the city.
He said GPPDA currently comprises of only Panaji, while NGPDA has Calangute, Parra-Nagoa and Mapusa under its jurisdiction.
GPPDA is chaired by Panaji MLA Atanasio Monserrate, while NGPDA chairman is Francisco Silveira.
