Panaji : After more than a month the CCP Panaji Market was thrown open to the public today. The market remained closed due to the rising number of COVID19 cases in Panaji.
Goa News Hub speaking to numerous vegetable and fruit vendors learned that they want to recover the losses which they incurred when the market was closed.

The vendors also said that recovery would be slow as many times some traders sit outside the market selling their produce. Due to which the customer does not come inside the market to purchase their products.

CCP Mayor Rohit Monseratte said, “Right now only fruit, vegetables and coconut vendors and general stores have been given permission to be open and only 50 people are allowed to enter premises at a given time”

Moseratte also informed that all SOP would be followed in the market. CCP inspectors would be vigilant and keep a close eye on the market so that all health protocols are followed.

CCP Corporator and Chairman Pramay Mainkar said “Near Inox we had allowed vendors to operate but since there was crowinding we had to shut it down, now we have opened CCP Market, only two gates are thrown open to public”

“We have made sure that crowding does not take place inside, once 10-15 customers leave the market more customers would be let in” he added.
Mainkar also informed that from Monday onwards CCP would be opening the fish market, only those vendors who are registered with CCP would be allowed to operate.
