Panaji: Bharatiya Janata Party on Friday said that the political opponents who make hollow statements about the land grabbing cases should understand the seriousness of the issue.
BJP Goa spokesman Yatish Naik told a press conference that Chief Minister Pramod Sawant highlighting the importance to crack down on such cases have formed the Special Investigation Team which is working in a transparent manner.
Naik was indirectly referring to the statement by former GPCC chief Girish Chodankar.
Naik said that the opposition party, which ruled the state for a long time, did not do anything to crack down on such cases.
“These opposition leaders are misleading the people,” he said.
Naik said that SIT is going through hundreds of complaints, which would be investigated and the justice would be given to the complainants.
He said that the forming of SIT and also one man inquiry commission led by Retd Justice Jadhav is a step towards reverting back the lands to their rightful owners.
