Panaji: Following a tweet by Goa Pradesh Congress Committee Vice President Sunil Kawthankar that the Crime Branch has been trying to frame him, several opposition leaders from various political parties have come in his support.
Kawthankar had claimed that he had come to know through his sources that the Crime Branch was tailing him and inquiries were being conducted about him after his attack on the Pramod Sawant-led government. The Congress leader had expressed his apprehension through a tweet that was released two days ago.
Following this, several opposition leaders, including Congress MLA Carlos Ferreira, ex-GPCC president and CWC Member Girish Chodankar, GPCC GS Archit Naik, and GPCC Media Chairman Amarnath, came in his support.
Outside his party, he was also supported by AAP President Amit Palekar, AAP’s Valmiki Naik, TMC Convenor Samil Volvoikar, Shiv Sena Goa President Jitesh Kamat, and Vijai Sardesai’s Goa Forward Party, who sharply reacted to the issue of the BJP government targeting the vocal Congress leader.
