Panaji: On the lines of the demand of their party leader Rahul Gandhi, National Students Union of India’s Goa unit on Friday demanded that the COVID-19 vaccination should be opened up for youth and students too.
NSUI Goa Chief Ahraz Mulla, in a press statement here issued here, has said that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi could very well distribute vaccine to people across the world but has miserably failed to make it available to people from India itself.
“NSUI Goa strongly demands the Government to make the vaccine available to the youth and the student community as well, we are the future of the country and our health has to also be the priority,” he added.
On Friday, Rahul Gandhi, in a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi today, called for vaccinations to be opened up to “everyone who needs it” and an immediate halt on vaccine exports, predicting “catastrophic effects” on the economy if inoculations continued at the current pace.
