Anjuna: One person died and a woman was seriously injured in an explosion of cylinder at Anjuna in North Goa on Monday.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Jivba Dalvi told reporters that the incident occurred at 7.20 pm on Monday when one Reshma Uskaikar was preparing for the Laxmipujan ceremony at her kiosk located at Peddem in Anjuna village.
He said that kiosk caught fire after which the cylinder which was kept at the side was blasted. Two persons including Reshma and another man named Denson D’Souza (40) were seriously injured.
They were rushed to the near state run hospital in an ambulance, he said adding that Deanson was declared brought in dead while Reshma is being treated for serious burn injuries.
