Calangute: Calangute police have arrested one Mr. Riyajul Sayed, age 24 years N/o West Bengal for sexually assaulting one minor tourist girl.
A complaint lodged by the aunty of a minor girl informing that one person had sexually assaulted a minor girl while they had gone for a bath on Candolim beach along with other relatives. The incident happened on 10.5.2018 at 16:00 hrs .further presence of NGO was secured and statement of the minor girl was recorded.
PI Dalvi immediately directed his staff to trace the accused person and accordingly he was nabbed from Candolim and lodged in police lock up.
An offence under section 354 A, section 12 of POCSO Act and section 8 of Goa Children’s Act has been registered and further investigation is in progress.
