Now, special mobile App to track quarantined patients

Panaji:  Goa government on Sunday introduced a mobile application for tracking suspected and asymptomatic carriers of COVID-19.

State Health Minister Vishwajit Rane said that the mobile app has been launched as a part of state government’s initiative to curb further spread of the virus.

“Goa health ministry has collaborated with a company to launch COVIDLocator, a GPS based  location tracker that will help in tracking suspected and asymptomatic carriers of COVID-19 when they leave their quarantine zone,” he said.

“The app is available for download on Android’s Playstore,” he added.

Rane said that the App will track a suspected person “only during the quarantined period.”

“We are monitoring the backend data, the location of the people who are quarantined,” he said.

The minister said that whoever patient doesnot download the App will get a message to download also a call from the concerned person to downdown it.

Goa has tested seven positive cases and no deaths. State has set up special COVID-19 hospital in South Goa for treating the positive patients.
