Panaji: North Goa Collectorate has won the ‘Skoch Order-of-Merit Award 2018 and Skoch Gold Award 2018’, for its e-governance project, providing online services and information to its citizens.
The award was conferred during a function held in New Delhi on June 22. The award is a reorganization of the accomplishment of the Collectorate North for the project e-Revenue.
In a press statement issued by the government, it is said that this is the third national level award won by the Collectorate North for the e-Revenue project. It has won the Platinum Award under Web Ratna District Category of Digital India Award 2016, CSI Nihilent eGovernance Award 2016 under the best district level initiative in citizens centric service delivery through ICT.
The e-Revenue project was formulated under the leadership of collector Neela Mohanan. The project covers various services offered by the Collectorate and its allied offices at sub-divisional and taluka level like facilities to avail caste, income, residence and divergence certificate, single window for partition of land, conversion of land, SMS based mutation facilitation, etc.
Congratulating the department, Minister Rohan Khaunte stated that it is a proud movement for Goa that the commitment of the State government towards citizen centric service delivery under the leadership of Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar, has been recognized at the national level. “Similar IT enabled and public service delivery initiatives by the revenue department can be looked forward in the days to come,” he said.
Approximately 250 online nominations were called from government entities across India and all the nominations were screened by SKOCH Advisory Committee to shortlist the best in each category.
