Margao: None of the candidate has filed their nomination for Benaulim Zilla Panchayat election, till Friday. The election is scheduled on June 23.
The election is crucial for the fate of INDIA Alliance as AAP leader Venzy Viegas and local leader Warran Alemao seems to be at the loggerhead. Alemao has not been part of the Congress but has shown closeness to the party.
Recently, AAP Goa chief Amit Palekar had said that the seat would be contested by his party as a part of INDIA Alliance.
It is yet to be seen what would be the reaction of leaders like Royla Fernandes who had moved a petition to disqualify AAP’s Hanzel Fernandes as ZP member.
