Panaji: Union Minister Nitin Gadkari on Friday said that BJP has been a party with difference that is why people elected the party but if we continue doing what congress used to do, then there is no use of their exit and our entry.
Gadkari was addressing BJP Goa executive meeting at Taleigao on Friday which was attended by party’s Goa Unit President Sadanand Tanavade, chief minister Pramod Sawant amongst others.
In his 40-minute-long speech, Gadkari recalled senior BJP leader L K Advani’s statement that “BJP is a party with difference.”
“Advaniji used to say that we are party with a difference. We have to understand how different we are from other parties,” he commented.
The union minister said that people elected BJP because of the Congress’ mistakes and if we commit the same mistakes, then there is no use in their exit and our entry.
“That is why, in the days to come, the cadres should know that politics is the instrument of bringing social economic reforms,” he said.
Gadkari said that we (BJP) has to create corruption-free country and that is why we should have a plan for it.
Referring to Maharashtra politics, Gadkari said that in Maharashtra there is a trend of playing politics on the line of caste (Jatiyvadi rajkaran). “I decided not to follow this trend. I have told people that I will not abide by caste and religion (Jaat-Paat). Jo karega jat ki baat, usko padegi kaske laath (the one who will speak about caste will get a strong kick),” he said.
Gadkari said that no person is better because of his caste but because of his values.
Addressing Goa cadres, Gadkari urged them to visit every constituency and strengthen the party organisation so that BJP will form the government in 2027 Goa assembly elections.
