Panaji: Delhi’s Leader of Opposition Atishi has said that no outsider has the right to come and spoil Goa’s environment, but squarely blamed the BJP-led state government for permitting mega projects and allowing real estate developers to flourish in the state.
“Whether it is Goa or any other part of the country, no one has the right to spoil the environment of that state. But the real question is—who is allowing this to happen? Who is giving land for these mega projects, who is granting permissions, and who is letting huge builders set up base here? It is the Goa government,” Atishi said while responding to a question on “Delhiwalas spoiling Goa.”
She alleged that real estate and infrastructure projects in Goa are being driven by “under-the-table corruption” and “collusion between BJP and builders.”
“These builders don’t come without the permission and blessing of the BJP government. If the government truly prioritised Goans—by giving them housing, employment and opportunities—how would these developers enter? This is not just an issue of outsiders, it is a problem created by corruption and collusion,” Atishi charged.
The AAP leader urged Goans to reflect on “who is really bringing these builders into Goa,” holding the state government responsible for environmental damage and the neglect of local interests.
