Panaji: In a major setback to the upcoming Goa tourism season, the National Green Tribunal (NGT) has stayed the enforcement of Beach Shack Policy 2019-22 pending finalization and submission of Coastal Zone Management Plan (CZMP).
The Principal Bench has granted time upto November 15 to Goa Government to finalize and submit the CZMP report to MoEF&CC, failing which has warned of coercive action against the concerned officers.
Activist Kashinath Shetye had filed an application before NGT over government failure to finalize the CZMP.
