Sanguem: Trinamool Congress Party leader Rakhi Prabhudesai Naik has taken strong objection to the proposed inauguration of Netravali Panchayat building by the outgoing panch members, whose tenure is expiring tonight.
Naik has said that the Administrator of the Panchayat, who is currently holding the charge in absence of the elected body, would be held responsible, if there is any violation of law.
She has also targeted local MLA and BJP Minister Subhash Fal Desai for violating the norms set by his own government.
Naik has said that Fal Desai is all set to violate the rules imposed by his own government on June 19 when he will inaugurate the new panchayat building for Netravali in presence of defunct Sarpanch and other panch members.
The current tenure of the Panchayat ends on June 18 night with State government posting Administrators on these bodies from June 19 onwards. All the panchayat bodies in the state will be reduced to ‘defunct’ on this day.
But Fal Desai in order to grab the credit along with his cronie supporters including Netravali Sarpanch and other panch members have organised an event to inaugurate the incomplete and dilapidated panchayat building.
This building is being constructed for last several years and is without any facilities. The electricity fixtures and connection which was given to this building has fallen off during the Taektae Cyclone that hit the state last year.
Fal Desai has made some cosmetic outward changes to the structures so that the outgoing panch members along with himself is able to get their name on the ‘inaugurate plaque’.
TMC has appealed chief minister Pramod Sawant, Panchayat minister Mauvin Godinho and State Election Commission to immediately stop this misuse of position by Fal Desai.
The party also warns the Administrator on this panchayat not to allow this function as the entire control of this body is with him. Any legal ramification of this event would lie on the Administrator.
