Panaji: Goa government has geared up to tackle any possible fear of Coronavirus with the setting up of ten bedded isolation ward in its three facilities.
State Health Minister Vishwajit Rane said that besides existing ward at state run Goa Medical College and Hospital near here, ten bedded isolation wards each are set up at Community Health Centre, Chicalim (South Goa), Primary Health Centre, Sankhalim (North Goa) and TB Hospital in Margao (South Goa).
The minister said that he had a review meeting under State Chief Secretary Parimal Rai, who is heading the task force to oversee the preparations to tackle any fear out of Coronavirus.
The stakeholders including tourism industry representatives, department of port, education department, Public Works Department, both the district collectors and others attended the meeting which was chaired by Rane.
Indian Medical Association’s representative Dr Shekhar Salkar was also present for the meeting on Wednesday.
Rane said that the state is following the guidelines of World Health Organisation. The minister said that separate Outpatient Departments are also created for the foreign patients.
