Calangute police have arrested one Mr. Reagan S/o Raymond Couto , age 21 yrs, N/o Andheri East, Mumbai during a narcotic raid conducted on 30/11/2018 near Calangute market.
PI Jivba Dalvi informed that reliable information was received regarding the accused person coming near Calangute market along with some drugs for delivery to prospective customers.
Accordingly a team was formed consisting of PSI Mahesh Naik and other staff including executive magistrate and further the raiding team waited at Calangute market in civil clothes. Upon seeing the accused coming at the spot the police immediately rounded him up and detained him at the spot.
During the personal search the he was found in possession of drugs which were than tested on the spot and found to be positive for charas worth Rs. 30,000/- and MDMA worth Rs. 30,000/-. Therefore all drugs were found to be total worth Rs. 60,000/- in international market.
The accused was brought at police station and placed under arrest. An offence under section 20(b)(ii)(A), 22(a) of NDPS Act, 1985 has been registered.
The raid went on from 00:30 am to 03:00 am during the early morning.
Further investigation is in progress with under the supervision of PI Jivba Dalvi and SDPO Shri Gaja Prabhudessai and SP north Shri Utkrist Prasoon IPS
