Panaji: Directorate of Social Welfare has organized Mukhyamatri Dev Darshan Yatra Yojana, a State scheme envisaged to provide one-time travel assistance on pilgrimage in a lifetime to senior citizens to visit sacred holy places outside Goa as per the itineraries decided by the Government from time to time.
This year, i.e., 2025-26, 04 trips have been arranged in association with the Goa Tourism Development Corporation Ltd. (GTDC) to visit Vellankani and Ayodhya.
The trip schedule for Vellankani is on January 9, 2026, and for Ayodhya is on January 19, 2026, January 26, 2026, and February 02, 2026.
The pilgrimage will be conducted under an agency package as per the MOU signed by the Government with the agency appointed by Directorate of Social Welfare from time to time. The pilgrimage tour will be conducted for a group of not less than 750 persons who wish to visit the holy places as per itineraries decided by the Government from time to time or as per the carrying capacity of the train, whichever is lower.
The age group to avail the facility under the scheme for the applicant/beneficiary should not be less than 50 years and should not be more than 70 years. One attendant shall be entitled to accompany the applicant free of cost.
The applicant shall be physically and mentally sound to perform the journey and shall not be suffering from any communicable diseases like T.B., heart diseases, leprosy, COVID, etc., and shall submit a Self Medical Certificate/Self Declaration on the Web Portal/App.
