Sankhalim: Ahead of Chief Minister Pramod Sawant’s visit to Delhi to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the mining dependents met him today requesting him to follow up issue.
Goa Mining People’s Front led by Puti Gaonkar met Sawant at his private residence in Sankhalim. The delegation urged newly inducted CM to take up the matter once against with PM.
“Sawant has assured us to take the matter on priority,” Gaonkar told reporters.
He said that the Centre may not be able to make any announcement on the issue due to Code of Conduct imposed for upcoming elections.
“But we have requested the Chief Minister to ensure that proper affidavit is filed in connection with the case pending in the Supreme Court,” he said.
