Panaji: Manipal Hospital Goa observed World Kidney Day with an awareness initiative highlighting the importance of kidney health and preventive care.
The programme was inaugurated by Hospital Director Surendra Prasad in the presence of Dr Amol Mahaldar, Lead Consultant – Nephrology and Transplant Physician, Dr Hardik Patel, Associate Consultant – Nephrologist and Transplant Physician, Dr Shekhar Salkar, Senior Consultant – Surgical Oncology, and Dr Rakesh Roshan, Associate Consultant – Urology, along with other hospital staff.
As part of the observance, a special awareness display titled Tips for a Healthy Kidney was unveiled to educate patients and visitors on maintaining good kidney health through proper hydration, a balanced diet, regular exercise, and routine health check-ups.

Speaking on the occasion, Hospital Director Surendra Prasad emphasised the importance of early detection and managing risk factors such as diabetes and hypertension to prevent kidney-related diseases.
The programme concluded with a cake-cutting ceremony where doctors and staff reaffirmed their commitment to promoting kidney health and spreading awareness in the community.
