Panaji: Goa police on Saturday arrested a man for raping and circulating obscene video of a minor girl.
Valpoi police arrested Vishnu Chawan under Goa Children’s Act, POCSO Act and Information Technology Act for raping and circulating obscene video of a minor girl.
A senior police official said that the parents of the victim had filed a complaint against the accused earlier this month after which he was missing from his local residence.
The complaint mentioned that the accused befriended the victim and later raped her and shot her obscene
During the investigation, police tracked down the accused at Gadag in Karnataka, where he was arrested and brought to Goa on Saturday.
Police team consisting of PSI Sarvesh Gaddi, PC-7508 Harun Shaikh and PC-6331 Sushant Gaonkar to trace the accused person .
Further investigation is in progress with PI Dinesh D. Gadekar of Valpoi Police Station under supervision of SDPO Bicholim Shri Sagar Ekoskar
