Panaji: Goa Police has arrested a 26-year-old man on Thursday for killing his 16-year-old friend at Velsaon Beach in South Goa.
The corpse of an 18-year-old girl was found at Velsao Beach in South Goa, after which police had began the investigation on Wednesday.
Superintendent of Police (South) Abhishek Dhania said that the accused, Kishan Kalangutkar (26), who was in love with the deceased, had traveled with her to the Beach on Wednesday.
He said that the preliminary investigation has revealed that the accused was in love with the deceased, who was studying in the college. Dhania said that the accused was upset after the deceased did not want to continue the friendship with him.
In a fit of anger, the accused stabbed the victim several times, killing her on the spot and later dumped her body in the bushes on the Beach, he said.
Dhania said that it was a blind case which was detected by Vasco police within 24 hours. The accused was arrested on Thursday.
