Panaji: Goa chief minister Pramod Sawant on Thursday said that the majority of the directives given by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during his address to the chief ministers through video conferencing, are adhered to by the state government.
Sawant told reporters that Prime Minister on Thursday guided the chief ministers over the preparedness to tackle COVID-19.
He said that the measures like setting up COVID hospital and patholab facility in each of the state have been already implemented in Goa.
“We have set up special hospital for COVID patients and our testing facility is also in place,” he said.
The chief minister said that the prime minister interacted with all the chief ministers but the heads of only those state where COVID cases are more spoke to him.
“Comparatively, there are no much cases in Goa. So, I did not speak to the PM,” he said.
Sawant said that the Prime minister has suggested to conduct health survey across the state by identifying the people who are suffering from symptoms.
He also said that if cases of coronavirus are more in certain village, that area would be locked down.
When asked whether the current lock down will continue even after April 14, Sawant said that the entire decision is up to the centre.
