Panaji – Industries Minister Vishwajit Rane must use the land of SEZ for the proposed IIT project instead of using the fertile land in Sattari demanded GPCC president Girish Chodankar.
I also warn the government to immediately cancel the transfer orders of all including a “Divyaang” lady or be ready to face the wrath of people from across the state. Vindictive actions will back fire on BJP government warned Girish Chodankar.
It is criminal act to cut almost 2 lakh trees for the IIT project to come up. The land allotted to SEZ is barren land Girish Chodankar claimed.
I also demand that Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant should not be a silent spectator and must make his position clear on the police high handedness and proposed IIT project.
The Congress Party will stand by people and I have already made it clear during my press conference at Melavali along with the Sons of the Soil.
Natural beauty and thick forest is the prestige and identity of Sattari. It is the duty of the local MLA to ensure that this natural gift is not destroyed. Any project can be built in two to four years, but it takes years to grow trees and restore the nature.
The seniormost Congress Leader and Pride of Sattari Pratapsinha Rane has always retained his identity as Farmer and he practices farming with devotion and dedication. It is important for every goan to follow the ideals of Pratapsinha Rane and support every farmer in the State.
Government must come out with maximum schemes to encourage farmers and must not indulge in supressing farmers voices with high handedness and use of power.
It is really appreciating that the local Sattari residents came out openly to protest against the IIT and did not budge to the pressure of those who live on blessings of their forefathers, and who have never remained stable with one ideology. The entire Goa will stand strong with the genuine residents and farmers of Sattari.
The elected representatives like Panch, Sarpanch, Councillors etc should not become mouthpiece of those who are born with golden spoon in their mouth, those who stay in bungalows and have no connect to village life. The elected representatives must become Peoples Voices urged Girish Chodankar.
